There are many reasons why people choose to work for a small business. Those include:
- Flexibility
- Culture
- See what you’ve done (versus being .00001% of a solution)
- They don’t want to die from overwork.
The last point is best illustrated by a recent WSJ headline:
“Bank of America Ignores Rules Barring Dangerous Workloads.”
Seems BofA works young (investment) bankers to death, literally. A young, former Green Beret, died from the 100 plus hour weeks and overnights. Many others had health issues, quite a few quit.
Managers wanting to advance, staff wanting their large bonus, and a thus a crappy culture.
Our experience is small business owners care about their employees as people not numbers. And it’s what business buyers look for.
