The other day as we were just waking up we hear this “rat-a-tat-tat; rat-a-tat-tat” that was a woodpecker trying to peck into our composite basketball backboard that is just below our bedroom window. Obviously (or should I say hopefully) it didn’t find any bugs in the plastic and soon flew away.
Nothing wrong with trying though, is there? Who knows what delicious treats that bird has found by going after surfaces other birds ignore.
The same is true in life and business. We have to try and try again because not everything will work.
- It’s like dating; very few people marry the only person they ever dated.
- It’s like new businesses; up to 80% fail, but entrepreneurs keep trying because they know the reward when things go right.
- Or perhaps it’s a new product or service; they don’t all catch on (I know from personal experience).
But, if we don’t try new things we’re stagnant, bored and eventually unhappy. Find your own backboard, it just might be the right one.
